The United Kingdom elected government has developed legislation for terminological and ceremonial parity between same sex civil partnerships in the register office and church or register office marriage. In law both types of couples can share -cohabit and foster / adopt / bring up children with state support. However for each church and faith community to host said ceremonies is a matter for their clergy according to policies set by their church council. Yet with The Church of England the general synod also sets policy for a worldwide church upon advice of it bishops across the Anglican and Episcopal provinces. As such on church premises it can still have write from pre 1920s parliamentary legislation in England regarding the Church of England, affecting teh Comonwealth
